The World Travel Awards granted Peru two other awards that recognize the great growth of tourism in our country, as noted by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (Promperú).
For the seventh consecutive year, our country won the award for Best Culinary Destination. In recent years, the planning and execution of the promotion of Peruvian cuisine has achieved outstanding results: currently, we have three Peruvian establishments on the list of The 50 Best Restaurants in the World.
Peruvian cuisine has been rated by many experts as one of the best in the world. Thanks to its variety, aroma and originality it has become the favorite of many tourists. Before doing any of the tours that Peru offers one of the first things you should do is to savor some of their dishes and try their diversity of products. For many tourists it is a pleasure to feel the tradition and the mixture of cultures when trying the delicious Peruvian food.
‘Best Culinary Destination in the World’, ‘Best Cultural Destination in the World’ and ‘Best Tourist Attraction in the World: Machu Picchu’ were the three awards for which the international tourism industry rewarded Peru. It should be noted that this is not the first time that the country has triumphed in these categories, with the recognition of Peruvian cuisine being the most awarded for eight consecutive years.
